Fun & Fitness in August with Browns Bay Racquets Club
A great month to join!

Browns Bay Racquets Club is making August the month to bring the community together and to show how racquet sports can be a new social and fitness activity to add to your life calendar. They are hosting two great events for both children and adults during the month, with one of these in downtown Browns Bay and the other at the club in Woodlands Crescent.
On Saturday 6th August, between 10am and 3pm, the racquets club will be hosting a Squash Micro Court (the only one in New Zealand) on Phoenix Plaza, Browns Bay. It is a unique opportunity for all to come along and participate in the game on an open air micro squash court.
“We welcome all ages to come along and try the activity,” says Ajay Marwaha, Squash Captain. "They will have the opportunity to ask club players questions about safety in the game and how it encourages children to develop coordination skills, make new friends and have a fun time. We have many youngsters who are now being recognised at national level as a result of winning at both team level and individual competitions”.
The club is awaiting council approval for the Micro Court event. However, everyone will have another opportunity to participate, by going along to the Club’s Open Day on Sunday 14th August, 1pm.  Browns Bay Racquets club will open its doors on that Sunday, for all to come along and have a free game of tennis and squash – experiencing the real thing!
Club members and coaches will be available on the day to answer all your questions on the sports and to talk about how the club promotes a community spirit through interclub games, tournaments, business house competitions and numerous social events.
The spirit at the club is amazing and I hear from many on how they have built a network of friends and business acquaintances through the club,” says Gemma Adams, Club Manager. "Even more, the stories of improved fitness, goal setting and winning trophies, makes my job all that more worthwhile. Overall, it is a great pleasure to see so many young faces and older generations enjoying tennis, squash and each others company. I look forward to meeting lots more new faces and welcoming them.”
