One for the Blokes!

Our progressive folks at the Browns Bay Business Association have come up with a great promotion to celebrate the men in the community to coincide with Father’s Day 2016.

The day before that special annual day (fyi… Fathers Day is on Sunday September 4th), the business association is organising a special event they’re calling “Blokes in the Plaza”. It’s an event for all the family, but clearly there will be lots to excite our local blokes.
As is mentioned elsewhere in this issue the organisers are looking for eight wonderful dad’s to enter a series of events on Saturday 3rd September and compete to become the 'Browns Bay Dad of the Year for 2016'.
It will be a real ‘blokes day’ in Phoenix Plaza, with displays of boys toys, a competition between our local tool-men to be crowned ‘Top Tyre Change Team for 2016’ plus live music, car displays, food trucks and even our version of a ‘bach at the beach’!
"The Idea came from seeing all the great restoration projects throughout the industrial area while working on the business district expansion,” says Zoe Harris, the event and marketing specialist for the business association. “It will be lots of fun. We are looking for teams of two mechanics to compete in the Bays Tradies Tyre Changing competition. For those interested there’ll be bragging rights and a trophy!"
"Fittingly, the cars on display are all restored and owned by local Browns Bay businesses,” adds Zoe. "We’re bringing some of the trade displays down from the businesses in the expanded association area so locals can see hidden gems like the caravan imports, splash centre and more. A photo booth will be in operation for fun photos with dad as well. We reckon this is a great way to celebrate the important role our men-folk play in our lives and the community and there is no better day than father’s day to do that.”
