Christmas Shopping Evening 2014

Lake House Arts Centre opens their gallery doors again this December to host their annual market-style Christmas shopping event. For one night only the Becroft and Café Galleries will present to the public a wide range of stalls brimming with beautiful handmade gifts and goodies from local artists and crafts people.

This wonderful selection includes glass jewellery by Frances Hanson, Karen Smith and silver jewellery by Marion Weatherley. Funky polymer clay pieces by Claire Fairweather, beautiful decoupage art work from Tanya Parrott, ceramics by Leanne Hyde and beautiful homewares lovingly crafted from recycled native NZ timbers. There will also be stunning small art works by Carolyn Annand, Louise Davis and Kim Randall.

Christmas goodies for sale will include delicious treats from Gretel’s Gingerbread, homemade delights from our Café and artists with handmade Christmas cards and decorations. The gallery shop will also have 15% off all items.

North Shore Youth Music will be performing a set of Christmas Carols...the public of all ages are encouraged to come along and join in singing popular favourites such as ‘Away in a Manger’ and ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’. North Shore Youth Music is made up of 6 different choirs and orchestras with students aged from 5 yrs - 25 yrs. For more information on the group please visit

This shopping event is sure to delight the whole family and what a great opportunity to buy quality New Zealand made gifts for Christmas. Come along and support local artists and crafts people while listening and perhaps even singing along to Christmas carols. January School Holidays

Lake House Arts offers some wonderful school holiday art classes from Tuesday 27th- Friday 30th January. The summer-themed classes include Ceramic Ice Cream bowl with Bill Hayes, Paint a Summer Beach Bag with Katie Smith, Miniature Summer Caravans and Birds of Summer with Cath O’Brien.
