This month we welcome Cam and Shasta Smith, who have taken over New World in Milford. As I was writing this column, I realised this celebrates over 70 years of a Foodstuffs owner-operator business in Milford and started thinking about others that have been here for some time. So, I’m doing a feature on Unichem Milford as well, because this business, in different guises, must have been serving our Milford community for at least 50 years.
New World Milford
Meet the new faces behind New World Milford! We’re excited to welcome Cam and Shasta as the new owner-operators of New World Milford. A local family with two busy boys, Cam and Shasta are proud to be taking the reins of a store that has been locally family-owned since 1964, continuing a long-standing legacy here in Milford. For Cam, the move brings his supermarket journey full circle. He started his career in the industry in 2009 as a seafood assistant, before becoming a qualified butcher and developing a real passion for fresh food and the clever teams that bring it all together. “Most importantly, we’d love to get to know you! Over the coming weeks and months, we want to hear from the community: What matters to you, what you love about the store, and any ideas you have for how we can make it even better,” says Cam. We’re so pleased to have Cam, Shasta and their family as part of the Milford community. If you see them around the store, make sure you stop by and say hello!
