Workshops and working bees

Kennedy Park Observation Post is currently closed for casual bookings due to the refurbishment of the carpark at Kennedy Park Reserve, Beach Road, Castor Bay. The playground and reserve are still open, but there is no car parking available.

If you are visiting the reserve, you will need to park on Beach Road. The Patchwork and Embroidery group is running from the Sunnynook Community Centre while the work takes place. The scope of work includes stormwater and drainage works and reinstating the carparks. The project should be completed by mid-August 2026 (weather dependent).

Ben Zhang (Mandarin facilitator) from Pupuke Birdsong Project has been running some great gardening workshops in Mandarin at the Sunnynook Community Centre. Check out the Facebook page for the information about his next workshop on Tuesday 9 June 2026 (Tawa Room).

Pupuke Birdsong Project also does a working bee at Lyford Reserve (next to Sunnynook Primary School) on the third Saturday of the month 9.30am to 11.30am.  All welcome, bring your gardening gloves.
