Benefitz, publishers of Channel Magazine, has once again played a part in producing all the signage and printing required for this event held at the Millbrook Resort near Arrowtown in late February.
The project was led for Benefitz by Blake Douglas, now a shareholder/owner of the business. It involved the production of all the print and signage items at Benefitz HQ in Auckland, then onsite installation at Millbrook by members of the company's signage crew.
“This is a project that we all enjoy immensely and get a real thrill being involved in,” explained Blake, as the project was completed just prior to the tournament starting in late February. “I believe that this, more than any other project, demonstrates our all-around capability across the entire signage and print requirements for events or promotions. For the New Zealand Open, we did all the printing required, manufactured all the signage items, and then played a key role in the installation on site.
“This is the second year we have been involved with the event, and I feel sure that the fact that we can produce so much for the organisers has made things easier for them. Previously they would have been dealing with two or three suppliers for the products and services we provide.”
For the 2025 New Zealand Open, examples of what Benefitz produced are: printed scorecards for the golfers; printed items such as menus and table cards for the hospitality areas; directional signage for the course; branding for key structures such as hospitality dome, archways, grandstands and television camera towers; fabric walls, banners, rigid and 3D signage for hospitality lounges; tee and fairway signage; signage for 50 courtesy vehicles; adhesives for merchandise huts and water stations; big banners for interior and exterior display; fabric backdrops for media and event rooms; printed fabric seat covers for temporary grandstands; printed/branded bibs for golf caddies; and name panels for mobile scoreboards.
“Being able to manufacture and install is a big advantage,” adds Blake. “Being able to print banners to five metres wide is one prime example. This means fewer joins, or no joins, which is much more efficient and results in a better end product. Our fabric printing and finishing capability is another example. We produced lots of walls and backdrops as well as covers for the temporary grandstand seats. These looked great.
“Our production team did a wonderful job getting all this produced and this effort was matched by the outstanding work that our install team did on-site at Millbrook. I was very proud of our efforts – bring on 2026!”
The 2025 New Zealand Open was played at Millbrook Resort from 27 February to 2 March.
