Our round-up of posts from local kids' stores on IG that we’ve double tapped (liked) and a Q&A with Dominique from @kidzstuffonline

Dominique Tuck is the owner of Kidz Stuff Online, an independent children’s store located in Birkenhead (and online!) stocking a wide range of gifts and toys for children of all ages including wooden toys and things that will take children through the years. Dominique is a mum of two grown kids, she lives in Northcote and enjoys walking with friends and being by the water as much as possible. Dominique talks about using Instagram and some notable toys in the store for this festive season and the summer months ahead.

Channel Mag: Tell readers a little bit about your kids' store and how it came about…
Dominique Tuck:
When I had my son ( second child), I felt a gap for boys’ toys so decided to start a side hustle alongside being a full-time mum, curating and selling toys online. It’s grown over the last 15 years to be a well-established online toyshop and great local toyshop in Birkenhead village.

Is Instagram a source of inspiration for you? Who do you recommend following and why?
I do Instagram, but I mostly follow people like me who are working hard to create a brand. I like getting messy at a local messy play group, and also Augustine as I love her clothes.

Which other local businesses do social media well?
Crave home and Birkenhead village do Facebook well and love to see what’s new and happening.

With the festive season and summer around the corner, what do you expect will be big for you in store?
We have a such a wide selection with ages and budget, but science kits always do so well and kites! With all the wind, they are selling well!

What products are you loving right now and why?
We have just become a Lego stockist so definitely loving having that instore. Our top selling item right now is Hey Clay, an air-dry modelling clay that's good for most ages.
