Spring couldn’t come soon enough, right? That’s certainly been the case for everyone I have spoken to ahead of this month’s issue. It’s been a long, long autumn and winter, one of the wettest on record and, finally, the days are lengthening, and the gloom is starting to lift.
As always, Channel is here to inject a ray of sunshine with a positive take on local happenings, people and places (Gundry’s Grumbles notwithstanding). This month, the new-look Waiwharariki Anzac Square is open to the public. Locals all know this has been a long process, not without its controversies, but I hope everyone can put divisions behind them and enjoy some peaceful, happy times in Takapuna in this new public space at the heart of the town.
‘Homes and Gardens’ are a focus this month, with plenty of content to inspire your next renovation, upgrade, garden project or refresh. Or perhaps the new season has got you thinking about a move? Take a look at our recent addition to the flipside of the magazine, The Property Channel. If you’re keen on having your home marketed in the magazine, contact Liz or Kim, details below.
Celebrating Shore success stories is a big part of what we do, and, for this issue Christine Young has produced a feature on an innovative start-up birthed by a multi-talented local. Sasha Lockley is an Edmund Hillary Fellowship graduate, opera singer and now ground-breaking entrepreneur, with her Money Sweetspot enterprise skyrocketing. Read about her story on page 66.
Aidan talks to North Harbour local, and former Cabinet Minister, Steven Joyce about his new book. We have all our usual valued content from our many contributors, plenty of Shop the Shore gift ideas, and we have been ‘Out & About’ at too many Shore events to squeeze into this month’s issue.
Kia pai tō marama, have a good month ahead,
