Drive 4 Life charity event a swinging success

On Thursday 3rd November, the Rotary Club of East Coast Bays, in association with principal sponsor North Shore Taxi, and major sponsor Ryman Healthcare, held its twenty-first 'Drive 4 Life' charity golf tournament at Waitemata Golf Club in Devonport. This is their largest annual fundraising event, with 30 teams taking part, all undeterred by the wet weather. The club expects to raise over $40,000 for Well Foundation, the official charity of North Shore Hospital, and other Rotary-supported beneficiaries within the local community. Since the event started in 2000 East Coast Bays Rotary has donated over $250,000 to community projects. This year’s donation to Well Foundation will support the creation of a sensory modulation room in North Shore Hospital’s Emergency Department and complete the upgrade of a low-stimulus room in the Specialist Adult Community Mental Health Service. A huge thank you to all the players and organisers for yet another hugely successful and entertaining day.
