Free Summer Fun

Our free Summer Fun Preschool Play mornings in Windsor Reserve, Devonport and Bayswater Park start up this month on Tuesday 5th and Thursday 7th respectively. The sessions are held from 9:30am-11am, and are a great way for little ones (and their caregivers!) to be active, meet new people and make friends. Caregiver supervision is required and attendance is casual. As sessions are weather dependent, follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with any changes.

We have a big day of school fairs on Saturday 9th November! First up is the St Leo’s School fair from 11am-2pm. You will be able to enjoy yummy food and treats, fun activities for the kids, white elephant stall, bargain books, toys, plants, preserves, crafts and pre-loved clothing.  They also have some fantastic prizes up for grabs with their fair raffles. Then from 3pm to 8pm, the Hauraki School Twilight Fair takes place. Enjoy live music, kids activities and more.

Devonport Swim Club is holding its Round North Head Classic Swim on Saturday 16th November. Starting at 11am, the 2.5km swim sets off from Windsor Reserve beach, running with the tide around North Head and finishing in front of Balmain Reserve on Cheltenham Beach. There is also a short course 1.2km swim that starts at Torpedo Bay boat ramp, again finishing at Cheltenham Beach. The event is open to the public, but all entrants should be competent swimmers. Visit www.devoswim.org.nz for more information and to register.

Plunket’s Devonport Spring Gala is happening on Sunday 17th November, 10am-12pm at the Devonport Plunket rooms at 1/3 Wairoa Rd, Devonport. Come along for a brilliant fun morning for all the family and support Plunket at the same time. Activities include a bake sale, sausage sizzle and face painting, and Devonport Peninsula Trust will be there providing a preschool play zone!

Now in its 13th year, the Devonport Santa Parade and Christmas Festival is taking place on Sunday 1st December. The fun starts with the Devonport Lions Santa Parade along Victoria Rd, followed by the festival in the park. Enjoy entertainment throughout the day with song and dance performances taking place on the Dance in the Park stage, Devonport Craft & Fine Food Market stalls, sausage sizzle, bake stalls, preschool play zone, Devonport Volunteer Fire Brigade combat zone plus rides from Smiles for Miles sidecar tours.  Plus most importantly, the chance to meet Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas!
