At Channel Magazine we love it when new businesses open up on the Shore. So it is a thrill for us to highlight the arrival of a new motor vehicle dealership in Wairau Road marketing iconic European brands Peugeot and Citroën.
The new dealership is being opened by Gulf Motor Holdings Limited, a company that already operates a hugely successful business on the Shore – Mercedes-Benz North Shore. That company is owned by Mercedes-Benz North Shore Managing Director Craig Innes and Bruce Miles. Mercedes-Benz North Shore is not only known for their fine motor vehicles, but also for their strong involvement in the local community. They’ve been one of the key sponsors of Ronald McDonald House since 2013 and support a range of other local organisations. They have also won the Mercedes-Benz Dealer of the year award for the last three years running.
Their new venture – Peugeot North Shore and Citroën North Shore – is being run by experienced motor vehicle professional Jaco Du Toit. Jaco has extensive international experience in the motor industry, including working for motor vehicle giant VT Holdings – who’s stable of brands include both Peugeot and Citroën. Jaco has six on his team at Peugeot North Shore and Citroën North Shore, across sales, service and parts.
“North Shore has been great for us with Mercedes-Benz, so we were keen to grow the business with other proven European brands,” explained Craig Innes when we quizzed him about the addition of Peugeot and Citroën. “These two brands ticked the boxes. They are iconic names, with the latest technological advancements. The vehicle range is fantastic looking and competitively priced. It also offers safety, performance and fuel efficiency. We feel they complement the Mercedes-Benz brand on the Shore.”
“As well as selling brand new and pre-owned vehicles from the Wairau Road site we will also be looking after all servicing and parts requirements. There will be a parts and service adviser on site working with our Peugeot and Citroën service team to ensure our valued customers are totally satisfied.”
The Peugeot New Zealand range includes no less than seven variants of passenger and SUV vehicles. These include:- Peugeot 208 5-Door Hatch, Peugeot 308 5-Door Hatch, Peugeot 508 Fastback, Peugeot 2008 SUV, Peugeot 3008 SUV and Peugeot 5008 SUV. These provide options from the city car to the premium fastback saloon, wagon, SUV or the family car, with petrol or diesel – and from late 2020 an electric car.
To celebrate the launch of Peugeot North Shore, Jaco Du Toit and his team have a special limited-edition Peugeot 3008 that is only available from the North Shore dealership.
“We are excited about our Peugeot 3008 Focal Edition,” says Jaco. “The Focal Edition provides more comfort with full Nappa Leather and an incredible 10 speaker sound system and having all of this at a fraction of the normal retail price, clients will leave our new showroom with miles of smiles ahead of them.”
Citroën’s New Zealand range includes four variants. These are Citroën C3 Hatch, Citroën C3 Aircross SUV, Citroën C4 Cactus and Citroën C5 Aircross SUV. A great range of small hatches, SUVs and family vehicles with petrol and diesel options.
“This new dealership has been a year in the planning,” added Craig Innes. “We are thrilled with the end result. A very modern 600 square metre indoor showroom plus a good sized forecourt that will enable us to display these vehicles well.”
