Sunsetter Festival set to hit Smales Farm in February

After two successful years of the Takapuna Food, Wine and Music Festival, the event has been rebranded to the Sunsetter Food, Wine & Music Festival for 2020 and will offer even more to the thousands of people who throng to Smales Farm for a day of fun.

Due to take place on Saturday, 15th February next year, Sunsetter Food, Wine & Music Festival will have its own unique identity, style and vibe, with promoters aiming to create a festival of international flavour that this country has never seen before.

Highlife Entertainment director Adam Bennett says people travelled from across the country and even internationally to attend the event earlier this year, and the turnout next February promises to be even more impressive.

“Event goers will get to experience an even better occasion this summer as the Festival enhances its beverage offerings, brings an incredible line up of both international and local acts, tweaks its design and pushes the finishing time out to 9pm,” Adam says.

“The festival is still in its infancy, but is fast gaining popularity as a ‘must do’ annual occasion on the summer calendar for many.  The festival forms a unique combination of offerings that you won’t find at any other festival.”

The 2020 festival delivers a power-packed line-up of international acts including Grammy-nominated Swedish DJ/producer Stone Bridge of Hedkandi fame, Dutch hyptonic funk-pop group My Baby and Australian electronic mash up stars Bermuda Social.  The line-up also sees the return of New Zealand’s top nostalgic music experience the Automatic 80’s, Lou’ana, Prins, General Lee, Tim Phin, DJ Reminise, Karn Hall, Grant Marshall, Murry Sweetpants, Saxman and more.

From Waiheke Island to Queenstown – and everything in-between – the festival boasts many of the top wineries and breweries in New Zealand, along with a superb selection of food vendors. Adam says Smales Farm has proven to be the ideal location for the festival, complete with expansive green spaces, purpose-built amenities, close to public transport and with a unique urban surround.

Smales Farm chief executive Paul Gunn says he is excited to work with Highlife to take the festival to the next level, “and keep growing the quality of food, wine and music experience we can share with the local and wider Auckland community. The vibe this year was incredible, and we can wait to build on that in 2020.”
