Kaipatiki Project celebrates turning 21

The Kaipatiki project - a not- for-profit, community-based organisation with a goal to empower people to think globally about nature’s revival and to act locally in addressing sustainability and encouraging natures biodiversity - held its AGM on 16th October and marked its 21st birthday at the same time. Attendees welcomed each other warmly over refreshments, and introductions were facilitated with sustainable name tags made of leaves. There was an opportunity to nominate a board member upon arrival and attendees were gifted a packet of basil seeds as a thank you. There was a gold coin raffle with eco friendly prizes such as keep cups, a baby Pohutukawa tree, non toxic soaps and a plant propagation course. The evening was introduced by Kaipatiki chairperson Charmaine Bailie, new Clematis branding was revealed with the theme demonstrating a continued passion for nature, and the guest speaker was Luke Wijohn, who is the Schools Climate Strike Leader.
